This article points out the power of video quite nicely.
1000 Friends did a nice job identifying solid spokespeople to tell their stories. They have used the video for a range of audiences.

They have shown it around Oregon
They put copy of every Oregon legislator’s chair in the capital.
Did some PR around it.
